What is Iron Casting? 

Iron Casting is a process of melting iron and then pouring it into a mold with the desired shape. The mold is a hollow form, which imparts the final design to cast iron. The melted iron is poured into the mold where it then cools off and hardens. As the iron cools, it cools to take the shape of mold exactly. Steps in Iron Casting

Alright, so now we move on to the steps in iron casting process. This crazy process has several critical steps in order to make sure that the final product is both performant and exactly what we want. 

Make a Pattern: The first thing we need to do is making a pattern, which is a duplicated object that we want to duplicate it. There are different types of patterns available such as wooden pattern, metal pattern and plastic pattern. This process is so important as this gives us the mold in which iron is going to be poured. 

Melting the Iron: We then place the iron in a furnace, also known as an oven, and melt it. The furnace is heated to a high temperature, causing the iron to melt. We then take the molten iron and handle it as carefully as possible to make sure that we properly pour the metal into our molds. Finally, the molten iron flows in the mold and fills every space that was empty, it even takes the shape of our pattern that we made. 

Cooling and Hardening: Lastly with the melted iron in place we must now let it cool to harden. This cooling process may take minutes or even full hours, depending on the size and thickness of the detained object. After the iron has cooled down and become solid, we open up the mold to reveal the final outcome. This part is most exciting and brings the fruit of all our efforts.
